The “through the lens” teleprompter takes less than 30 minutes to assemble. It is placed on the camera tripod, or on a stand which is then placed in front of the lens. The operator will customize the speed and type size for the talent.
Once you book the teleprompter you will receive the operator’s contact information so that you’re able to communicate with them. All major alterations to the script should be done at the rehearsal. Operators are flexible, resourceful and willing to work with the client if something changes on set.

Interrotron Mark III Rental (Director’s Unit and Talent Unit)

The Interrotron Mark III contains two separate units, one for the director and one for talent. The units work together and create a “face-to-face” conversation between the two individuals.
The Mark III model is perfect for children talent because it allows for a “face to face” connection. This model also saves shooting time and money because the first take is usually the best one.

The EyeDirect, like the Interrotron Mark III, allows the talent and the director to see each other “face to face”. You are also able to judge body language and speech while still looking directly at the camera lens.
This unit comes in a fitted Pelican case that weighs around 30 pounds and is slightly bigger than a carry-on bag.

iPad Teleprompter Rental/EyePrompter Rental
Price: $95 USD/Day without iPad; $295 USD/Day with iPad

The iPad Teleprompter is great for small productions, tight budgets, and productions with small scripts. Just note that most iPad software does not allow for live script scroll speed adjustments. When it unfolds it sits on a small light stand or low c-stand. These stands are not included but we supply adaptors making it compatible with any prosumer camera.

Podium Prompter (Podium AutoCue)
The Podium Prompter is a thin teleprompter monitor placed on top of the podium out of sight of the audience. The cable is dressed down the inside of the podium and out to the operator offstage.
The speaker just glances down at the top of the podium as if he/she were simply glancing at notes and then returns gaze to the audience.
This is the most “invisible” of the prompter types for a live performance.

Rise and Fall “Robotic” Presidential Prompter Pair
Occasionally, there is a need for several speakers to share the same podium at a live event. They may be of varying heights so that the teleprompter may need to be adjusted up or down for each individual. Having an assistant rush onstage to adjust the prompter height is not a good way to handle this.
Enter the Rise and Fall “Robotic” Presidential Teleprompter. In rehearsal, our operator sets the height of the two glass “paddles” for optimum comfortable reading level for each speaker. Then during the live event, he/she robotically adjusts the prompter height from a nearby location.
This unit is available in New York and San Francisco but can be shipped to other cities. Our Manhattan robotic prompter has served Boston, Philadelphia, Washington DC, Nantucket, Newark, Atlantic City, Hartford, Westchester and the Hamptons.

I am super excited about working as a production coordinator and as a teleprompter operator for the American Movie Company and its subsidiary, Teleprompter Rental. The main office is in New York but they’ve got offices all over the U.S.
As my luck would have it, I met another operator in Miami while vacationing there and voilá! Here I am! Love it here and have been on some interesting shoots.
